Half of 2/3's is easy because it is two 1/3's ... so half of two-third is one-third. Doubling is just 2x2 equals four-thirds or one cup plus another one-third cup.

Splitting 3/4 in half is a little harder because 3 doesn't divide evenly by 2. So you need to express it as a fraction which will split easily. So if you use eighths (that is multiple top and bottom by 2, remember that 2/2 is same as one) you get 6/8 which is easy to split. Half of 6/8 is 3/8.

Remember whenever we say "a percentage of something" we are multiplying -- so half of one is .5 x 1= .5 Another example, half of ten is .5 x 10 = 5. Expressed as fractions, half of ten is 1/2 x 10 which becomes 10/2 or 5. So when taking a fraction of a fraction, we are multiplying.
1/2 of 1/2 is 1/2x1/2 which becomes 1/4

Back to your example --
1/2 of 3/4 = 1/2 x 3/4 = 3/8

to find half, you would multiply by 1/2:
2/3 * 1/2 = 2/6 = 1/3
3/4 * 1/2 = 3/8

to double, you would multiply by 2:
2/3 * 2 = 4/3 = 1 1/3

1/2 of 2/3 is 1/3. To get 1/2 of 3/4 I would use a 1/4 cup measurer 1 1/2 times.

you can but different size measuring cups but if you have one cup (250ml) to get 3/4 then divide the cup into 4 and fill it up to the 3rd quarter. 2/3rds ..divide the cup into three and fill up 2 lots
1 cup= 250ml
3/4 cup=188ml
2/3 cup= 167 ml

here is a conversion site

2/3 x 1/2 (just multiply straight across) = 2/6 = 1/3
