I've been with my bf for 1,5 years.He had feelings for me, long before our relation

On 3rd month we attended a party,where his ex gf would also be.He hanged out apart all night, saying she'd be very sad seeing us (it was already 1-2 years since their break up and I know she didnt mean him much).I broke up,but he persuaded me making apologies,etc.
He hadn't have a longterm relation before, so I tried tolerating his faults, giving him time to grow up.He's very clever, social, caring, enriching my life..
But since then I never trusted him %100 and got very sensive about ex-gf topics.I always reacted very clear & aggressive when he talked about other girls or ex-gf.
He makes excuses "I couldn't think".. He really loves me ,but keeps going somehow..
Finally he wanted me to make a box for him with his photo on it. Reason: He wants to throw away a box he's using, which another ex gf made for him with his photo on it !!
Why does he do that? Ego, Sauciness or to get attention?

I already told him it won't work & I don't believe his promises anymore..
But I wonder why.. What are the possible reasons for a guy to behave like that,although I play my cards open?
( To make it more clear : He was creeping for me years ago, and still does when I say I'm breaking up. We spend time %70-80 of our time together, talk 2-3 times a day, calls at 7 a.m. , I met whole his family,etc)

Dump him. I went through something similar and it's just not worth it. In the long run, you'll be happier...even if it hurts a little at first.

If a man loves you than he would let the past go. Just as he would expect you to do the same. Talk about your ex boyfriends and see how he would react. I bet this would start an argument. Tell him your not like the other girls he dated in the past. You are who you are. IF he loves you he will accept you for this.

The guy does no love you, plain and simple , he is a player and is still immature , what do u think he would do in your shoes ?
I have "been there , done that" and the best thing to do is let go
of this guy and move on to some one eho can respect you and your feelings.

He's controling you. Stop allowing him to do anything, which makes you work for him.
If he is not doing for you, he is not right for you.
He will fail to impress you over and over again.
