I was just wondering why some pimpels hurt more than others and why some don't hurt at all. Yeah, it's kind of a grose question.

Because some are more evil than some! They have a mind of their own! Demands.

The kind that hurts that you are talking about sounds like cystic acne, defined on a website as:
Cystic acne, whether chronic or intermittent, is one of the most frustrating types of acne lesions to deal with. Not only are cystic acne breakouts painful, but the extent of damage they're capable of inflicting often goes beyond the reach of topically applied products. What happens in cystic acne is not a pretty picture. It is typically triggered by a surge in hormones, such as occurs during a woman's menstrual cycle. For some unknown reason, the skin's oil glands become hypersensitive to this cascade of hormones, and react by overproducing sebum—so much, in fact, that the oil gland itself becomes engorged, swollen, and hardened with the excess. Unable to push the extra oil into the lining of the hair follicle (which leads to the surface of the skin via pores), the gland bursts underneath the skin. This causes acute inflammation and irritation, and leads to the redness and soreness of cystic acne. Because these lesions start so deep in the skin, scarring is an all-too-common side effect.
Basically, its deeper and has no way out so it hurts more and takes longer to heal. I took accutane about 10 years ago and it helped mine incredibly.

it's spelled gross. The reason is all skin has nerve endings in it , there are nerves where some pimples pop up and no nerves where others pop up. Some are deeper than others also. You need to clean your face with cotton balls and witch hazel from wal mart, it's about 3-5 bucks for a large bottle. It is a natural astringent and will keep your skin PH balanced and keep the skin clear. Make sure to throw each cotton ball away after cleaning a pimple, don't spread the bacteria around. Both my girls use it and to this day as grown women they still have beautiful skin.

Some are just on the outside of the skin. The ones that hurt are deeper in the skin and formed way underneath there. They are called underground zits.

I suggest that the issues about the skin conditions will be cared by medical attentions instead of cosmetics. The cosmetics wouldn't solve the illness in the skin.

the ones that hurt are real "pimples," and have a lot of puss building up under the skin. the ones that dont hurt at all aren't actually pimples, they are just bumbs on the skin that resemble pimples. some are caused by dry skin, and some by oily skin.

the ones that hurt are usually cystic acne, pimples that are deep under the skin. all the gross gunk is in there, but it's too deep to be gotten out, so it gets all sore.

There is more bacteria and stuff in the pimple then the others and some have less. Just depends.
