maybe they think that if they aren't "special" enough to have them, then nobody is.

To say the gifts are done away with is like saying salvation must be done away with too , Here is a Good thought for you !
The book of acts is the book on the begining of the Blood bought Church of Jesus Christ and if you go to the end of it you will find that it dosnt end , as in saying Amen are Bless you and Gods grace be unto you ....it just stops as if there is more to write and that is US, we who are blood bought are still building the church to this day So if the church is still being built then why would the gifts end
Peace.

what is wrong with all lot of people, they are not in there word, and they are taking mans word for the gospel, and not God's.
He said, "I am the same yesterday, today, an forever, I change not". Its people that change, and make chooses to chose to believe or not too.
I feel in the movement of God, when he said, "In the last Day I shall pour out my Spirit up all flesh, then lets see who is going to run in the gifts, amen.
I know God is getting ready to set in action this scripture, and when he does, only the ones who have sold out to Satan, and his lies will not make it, We need the Gifts, right now,
Dreams I have had one just Monday about the end time, and the war fare about Satan, and how powerful he is becoming and weak the Church is, due to not reading, and not studding the word.
our weapons are not carnal, but mighty in the pulling down of strong holds. People just except life, they don't know, they have the power in the word, to change there destiny in God, by the gifts of the Spirit.

The reason they say that is because they use that scripture you have on here to say that it has been done away. That is not what it is saying at all if you read the rest of the chapter. It says when that which is perfect is come then that which is in part shall be done away with. THey say that which is perfect is the Bible. If you look at the scripture it is talking about Jesus coming. It says then shall we know even as we are known. We dont know as we are known because the Bible came. It doesnt make good sense.

There are certain schools of ministry who teach What is called dispensationalism. Which is a belief that all the gifts of the spirit died out with the last apostle. It is based on the belief that now we have the bible or some such nonsense.
I am sure it is apparent to you that we still need the power of the Holy Spirit, even more today than they did then.

Keep reading, there is a date.
1 Corinthians 13:9 beginning:
For we know in PART, and we prophesy in PART.
BUT WHEN THAT WHICH IS PERFECT IS COME, then that which is in PART shall be DONE AWAY.
Well, Christ has come, he is the perfect one, so that which is in part has been done away.

The Catholics still believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. I don't think that helps, but I felt like mentioning it.

Fear.
Because they are afraid that asking God for more of Himself will require a greater commitment on their parts, and take them out of their "comfort zones".
One teacher expressed it thusly:
"Imagine that God is an Ocean. You can get into the ocean as deeply or as little as you want. You can stick your toe in. You can wade in up to your ankles. You can get in up to your waist. You can tread water, and not touch the bottom. Or you can submerge yourself in the depths of His Spirit and His love."

any honest minded person can see and use their intelligence to come to the conclusion that there are no acts of supernatural power, such as in the days of the truly gifted who performed "signs, miracles, and wonders" so the unbelieving could believe and know that those who did such were not counterfeit but the real thing.

Jesus said that it is an adulterous and wicked generation that seeks after a sign and to them no sign will be given, accept for the sign of Jonah.......................
Now stop being so critical and think about that for just a few moments. Think!

Brother, I fully believe in all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I speak in tongues and I know God is speaking through me. Unbelief is why many will not see God.
