Well you can look at this two ways:
1. Your ex is sending you a clear message that he WANTS you to move on and cares enough to help you by getting you a date.
2. You have nothing else better to do so why not give this "blind" date a chance. After all do you REALLY want to sit and pine over a ex that has clearly moved on.
If you don't feel comfortable in going on the date it's understandable: go out with the girls or do something(sports or hobbies) to get your mind off of the ex until you realize you are over him.

ask yourself do you still have feelings for him. If you do then tell him you don't want to talk to his friend because you still have feelings for him and the two of you may have chemistry again and you may get back together. But if you dont get back together with him the only thing you can really do is follow your heart.
