I got mine at Osco (now CVS) but Walmart sells them too. They're also referred to as "S barrel curling irons".
They work really well if you have the time and patience to use one. It's like crimping because you have to go section by section. It usually helps if you have someone else do it for you!

I don't know where you live, but here in the states you should be able to get one in the beauty section of a K-mart or other such store.
