then why wouldn't become jaded. If all you feel is pain how can it feel bad. Without feeling good how can bad feel really bad. By the way i am religous but had an arguement that had good questions?

There's always something worse.

Now, I don't purport to believe in Hell, but I'll go with the assumption that Hell is a place of eternal torment.

With something that terrible and supernatural, it's easy to imagine that things could be worse. No matter how jaded you get, the punishments can become worse. If one were to believe in Hell, then one could believe in infinite tormet. As such, human endurance could not keep up.

The Bible says that in hell there is weaping and knashing of teeth. There is so much pain and it never ends. I hate pain even for a moment. If you think you can get used to pain, put your hand in a flame and see how long you can stand it. You would be a fool to even consider doing that, but if you are in fact a fool, please, I implore you to not put your hand in a flame. I also implore you to not end up in hell where you WILL suffer for all eternity, paying for your own sin.

Hell must be painful -- maybe not in a physical sense, but maybe in a spiritual/emotional sense. The Bible says that there will be gnashing of teeth and writhing -- that implies intense pain and suffering.

I believe we can work our way up through the evolutionary chain, and we can get out of hell.

First of all, God said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you, in the Bible.

Einstein said, Matter is never lost, just rearranged, or changed, something like that? Into another form, I believe.

The 'hell' that the bible speaks of is nothing more than the common grave. Look up the origin of the word -Hebrew-sheohl and Greek _haides.

God is love and eternal separation from God is a separation from love so Hell is the most loveless horrible place and I'm pretty sure you can figure out that that sucks.

Hell is described in the bible as eternal torment. It is someplace no one would ever choose to end up.

Hell is a place where people will burn forever, there will be no opportunity for feeling good.
