"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved". To confess Jesus as Lord, one needs to realize they have sinned, repent of that sin, and accept Jesus Christ. It is also not merely lip service, it is about finding out about God's ways and His character (reading, studying the bible), and giving our lives over to God for Him to transform us into the image of His son. In other words, it's a lifelong adventure.

This is how I believe through reading the bible that one is to be saved:
"Those who call upon the name of the Lord will be Saved." and "Faith." The Bible
And that is what gives you a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I know the Bible doesn't mention the relationship part at all. But I guess it was an easy way for people to describe the way in how to be saved.
I think that Through praying to the Lord only He can give you Faith to be saved and have salvation. Faith is like hoping that you will get that special something that you want for Christmas or hoping that you'll make that Basketball shot and actually make it! That is what I think that faith is. Think of Two points!

Salvation is God granting eternal forgiveness of your sins. That means a true believer in Christ has forgiveness of past, present, and future sins. Anyone who doesn't understand this or thinks it's a "license to sin" doesn't fully understand the grace of God or His salvation.
What do you have to do to get it? Nothing...It is a free gift of God through faith and not works. This is so we can't boast and say, "See Look at all the good things I did (which are but filthy rags to God) I earned a better place, I earned forgiveness and heaven." Only a fool would say this.
1.) Acknowledge the Lord God and the sin you committed against Him. Get on your knees alone in your room and really give thought to what a pathetic fool you have been. Tell God you are sorry.
2.) Ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and ask Him to forgive you.
3.) Repent of your sin and put your faith in Him alone.
4.) Water baptism is optional as far as I'm concerned, but it is the open, public, way of telling everyone including God that you love Him, believe in Him, and will obey Him.
5.) God who knows hearts and minds, will read your heart and mind to see if you have a true and honest heart. He will see if you are deceiving others and yourself. One way or the other, He will know the truth.
6.) If He sees that you really seek Him and His forgiveness. That you are pure of intention...that is when God sends the Holy Spirit. That is when His truth is revealed. That is the precise moment a person becomes "reborn" or "born again." When it happens is entirely up to God. But when it does happen, you will know...you will be changed forever. That is when eternal salvation comes upon a believer.
7.) Die to yourself, pick up your cross and follow Him. Life becomes about pleasing God and not yourself.
8.) Repent of any sins you commit after this...acknowledging the fact that you are already forgiven. This is a way of saying to God, "I know I did wrong today, and I'm sorry", I pray for strength and guidance to turn from sin...to draw near to God instead of away.
9.) From this point on it's all about repentance and faith. Taking life one day at a time.

For a person to gain salvation God requires that he exercise faith in Him and Christ Jesus. A person cannot expect God’s favor when he refuses to exercise faith in the Father as a Savior and in the One whom the Father sent to make salvation possible. It is written: “For ‘anyone that calls upon the name of Jehovah will be saved.’” (Rom. 10:13) This has to be done by faith, not only in Jehovah and his Son, but also in the truthfulness of his Word. “Moreover, without faith it is impossible to win his good pleasure, for he that approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.”—Heb. 11:6.
The faithless person does not change reality by his denying the existence of sin and the need for salvation. Although he may refuse to recognize it, he is still a sinner. “If we make the statement, ‘We have no sin,’ we are misleading ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1Â John 1:8) When a person exercises faith in God’s written Word as being true he will acknowledge that he is in a sinful state because of Adamic sin and is in need of a Redeemer. He will show repentance for his sins against God because of his imperfection. “True, God has overlooked the times of such ignorance, yet now he is telling mankind that they should all everywhere repent.”—Acts 17:30.
It is only right that the Creator should require obedience from man. In times past those that obeyed him were the ones that he favored. It is no different today. Salvation through the coming war of Armageddon and from death depends upon obedience to Jehovah God and to Jesus Christ, whom he has anointed to be earth’s ruler. This is shown at Hebrews 5:9, which says regarding Christ: “After he had been made perfect he became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him.” Here again the Scriptures show that salvation is limited and not universal.
Endurance in the way to life is also a requirement for salvation. It does no good if a person starts out on a faithful course of obedience to God but fails to continue on it. He must remain faithful as long as he lives, even when his faithfulness brings the threat of death. “But he that has endured to the finish is the one that will be saved.”—Matt. 24:13.

When you have Salvation from Jesus you have eternal security that you will live forever with Jesus What you have to do is confess your sins to God you dont have to confess to man. Ask God to forgive you for your sins. Then you find a good Bible
believing Church to attend .God tells us in His word to assemble ourselves in his house.
There are so many different denominations out there . My choice is Southern Baptist.I have been on the Southern for 30 years. My reason they preach and teach straight from the Bible. GOD BLESS....

By grace and God's mercy we are totally forgiven and are considered perfect in The Father's eyes when we do the following
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

Salvation is living in heaven with God.
Its not what you (for there is nothing you can do), it's what has been done for you.
When Jesus died on the cross (and rose to life on the third day) so all you have to do is accept him and you will be saved.

Redeem yourself by your actions on earth.
there is no heaven, so good deeds and a kind life is the best you can do.
If I were god, (and I may be) I would only save those who lived kindly, not those who preached salvation, through belief in me.
Best of luck there,

Salvation for me is being able to look around you and realize how amazing life is. Salvation is finding true happiness. Salvation is being able to give up anger because you realize that anger never solves anything. Salvation is finding one's peace of mind.
Salvation is being able to love all people, to see the beauty in all people, and to be able to work countless days just because you know you have to help them.
Salvation is being able to devote your life for a greater cause knowing all to well the sacrifices that one has to go through.
