The history of Susanna and the two elders. This history of Susanna, in all the ancient Greek and Latin Bibles, was placed in the beginning of the book of Daniel: till St. Jerome, in his translation, detached it from thence; because he did not find it in the Hebrew: which is also the case of the history of Bel and the Dragon. But both the one and the other are received by the Catholic Church: and were from the very beginning a part of the Christian Bible.

The passage you refer to WAS NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL HEBREW TEXT, but was added by the Septuagint (Greek translation of the Old Testament common at the time of Christ) translators. This WAS NOT translated FOR Jews, but for the Greek library at Alexandria. Thus, it contains documents which suited the purposes of the library rather than the Jews.
The Septuagint then became part of the basis of the Vulgate, or Latin Bible which was adopted as the standard for Catholicism. The added chapters and books were not considered as authoritative by the Jews. Most of them were not written in Hebrew. The "Old Testament" accepted by MOST churches is that accepted by most Jews in the time of Christ.

i know this may sound irrelevent, but the Quran topic was closed and was hoping to reply.
the topic was regarding the Qur'an, not lies. not a single bit of information that gave is correct. some extremist may believe in some of them but if you want to know the truth about Islam and not some negative things that a minority of muslims believe in, do or say, then it might help reading a translated version of the Quran or speaking to a muslim. a lot of the hadiths (the prophet's (pbuh) sayings) are fabricated and i never read any of that stuff. i dont mean to lecture you. i understand that you just came across that piece of text. if you think about it, anyone can simply look at you and point out all of your bad points and make you seem like a bad person. the media is good at that! just bear in mind that islam, like all other religions, aims to promote peace.

Considering that Daniel was told to seal up the scroll in Chapter 12. I do not find it unreasonable the believe that chapters 13 and 14 were not considered canonical

Since so much has been lost in interpretation anyway, it doesn't make that much difference. Even most people who learn to memorize the Qua ran don't understand what they're reading either. The ten commandments should be enough for people to learn to live by plain and simple.

This is not part of the Bible. The catholic church added this and a few other non-canonical books to their Bible in the 1600. Check history.
