Find a hobby. I sometimes chew on ice chips when bored or when I need to think ( something I picked up while quitting smoking)

Try getting some exercise when you get bored. I know how hard it is to get into a routine, but once you do, you'll feel a lot better. Just go for a walk around the block to put your mind on other things than food. Visualize yourself as enjoying healthier eating. Picture yourself as really loving to eat fruits and vegetables over and over in your mind. The mind can tell the body whatever it needs. It's much more powerful. Visualize yourself as being a very active person. See yourself playing some sort of sport that you may already enjoy and pursue it like a tiger. I did this years ago, and it really works if you're persistant. Good luck!

Miekalulu is soooo right!! I started doing that & I ate much less. I'm talking about junk food snacking or eating late @ night.
Also, GO OUTSIDE!!!!!! It helps to leave the house for a bit & get some fresh air & exercise. Y'know, if you do that, you will have earned the right to a snack.
Consider healthier snacks. Stop buying CHIPS!!!! Hang in there

Find a way to get un-bored. Join a class, get a hobby, go for a walk with a friend, do some volunteer work and think about other people's problems instead.

I have an idea that I once used when I was trying to stop smoking. Go to your kitchen and see if you have any cloves. Most families that do any cooking will have them. Or they are easy to get at the store. They are like little wooden knobs but if you hold them in your teeth they make your mouth go numb. It is a weird but nice feeling and it will make you stop wanting to eat. Plus, they have no sugar so you can pop one in as often as you want. Does that help?

You need to do something that you can completely focus your attention on. That way you won't eat a lot of snack food. And also, cucumber has a lot of water and is really good for you. It has very few calories, and they're cheap. It kind of tastes like watermelon.

Replace it with another habit. I play with a hard puzzle (ex. Rubik's cube) or play solitare. Also start getting involved in your community, you won't be as bored.
