last year i went to him and i had a cavity soo deep it was right next to the nerve he didn't do it on perpose but he hit my nerve. now i feel the pain of the infection. i went into the dentist yesterday and he took x-rays and he is now sending me to a specialist to (might) get a root canal. the pain started 1 week ago. i went to school today and the nurse didn't want me to take tylanal cuz my mom was worried that both the tylanal from school and tylanal 3 would combind and give me a overdose. which i'm dizzy and tired from just takeing the tylanal 3 alone.

ACETAMINOPHEN (TYLENOL) IS NOT ANTI-INFLAMATORY LIKE IBUPROFEN (MOTIN OR ADVIL) THIS EXPLAINS WHY TYLENOL 3 WITH CODEINE MAY NOT BE AS EFFECTIVE AS OTHER ANALGESICS FOR PAIN CONTROL. INFLAMATION INCREASES THE SENSATION OF PAIN. DEFINITELY FOLLOW UP WITH YOR DENTIST. I WOULD NOT PRESCRIBE A NARCOTIC FOR SOMEONE OF 13 YEARS.

tylenol #3 are a very strong prescibed pain killer. they contain codine for the pain relieve. I don't think he will give you anything stronger. You mentioned the pain did go down, so it is going to depend on how long it has been. Take the prescription as stated if it is every 4 hours do that. don't wait for it to become unbearable. You might also want to use a wet face cloth that you keep in the freezer and put it on the area it will help to numb some of the pain. If the pain gets to bad after 3 days call your doctor and let them know it could have an infection in there.

I don't get any relief from narcotic pain killers, which is what you have. Tylenol 3 contains codeine. When I take something like that for pain, I'm high as hell , but still in pain. Plain old Advil works best for me. You may not believe this, but take an ice cube and hold it in the palm of your hand, it seems to make the pain go away. Kinda fools the brain into forgetting about the toothache.

I truly understand your pain, I just had a ROOT canal done on my back tooth. The best way is to take 3 Liquid Advil Pills every 3-4 hours, you need about 800 miligrams of power to help over come the pain. It should go away after 3 good days of drugs.

If you haven't already had them taken out it would be possible your wisdom teeth are coming in and pushing up on your other teeth. Ask a dentist I'd say :D

You need to tell him to fix it or find another dentist who will. He should never have sent you out of the office with that kind of pain!

Try alternating the tylonol 3 and motrin. every 3 hours takemotrin and the next 3 hours take the tylonol they boost each other. ex: 3 pm take tylonol at 6 pm take motrin. at 9 tylonol and midnight take the motrin.

Rinse your mouth out with warm (not hot) salt water. Seriously, it helps numb the pain.
