Every restaurant people have posted has "TOURIST CITY" written all over it. Please don't go to Tavern on the Green or the Rainbow Room. Here are a few suggestions in my book are truly romantic, beautiful, and DELICIOUS!!

Cafe Boulud - French (incredible!) (extra $$ Daniel)

Lupa - (Italian, Mario Batali's place...if you have extra $$ try Babbo)

Cafe Boulud is on the upper East side, so after dinner you can walk the street and look at the beautiful brownstones that you will buy for her next year! ha ha..just kidding. It is a beautiful stroll!

Follow the links below and see if you like the menus. Believe me, these restaurants are incredible, and you won't be sorry!

Happy Anniversary!

(Let us know where you went!)

Romantic, fun and not too expensive? Have you been to the French Bistro Casimir? (212 358-9683) It is at 103 Avenue B, between 6th & 7th.
They have an incredible chocolate lava cake with a raspberry sauce and superb creme brulee too, but its ususally not on the menu and often have to ask for it.

go to The Sherry Netherlands's Piano Bar for a cocktail before you eat.
restaurants:
1. One If By Land, Two If By Sea-very romantic-expensive but i think you can handle it from what you described-American*****
2. The River Cafe-American-expensive-great view-romantic
3. The Four Seasons-expensive but i believe you can handle it-romantic-American food-very good*****
4. the Rainbow Room-American-great view-expensive-romantic-band play mood music
5. Patsy's-Italian-great food-not so romantic but great-expensive but you can handle it

then take a carriage ride around Central Park!
then go to Joe Allen's or Elaine's for late night cocktail (such as a White Russian) or a dessert! make reservations, especially the bar area at Joe Allen's. celebrities frequent both places after the plays let out around 10:00 P.M.

Olives at the W New York is excellent. It is a nice place, but not too over the top expensive. You can make reservations online too!
