I think rhetorical questions are an important part of the development of the human race. I have often been able to consolidate my beliefs and expand my ideas because of rhetorical discussion. Imagine what would have happened if we hadn't asked crazy rhetorical questions like "What happens if we abandon the monarchical system for democracy?" or "Can the square root of negative one solve complicated equations?"

When you ask a rhetorical question, you're inviting others to ponder the inspiring, thought provoking information you've just spouted out. If they look into the air with their folded hands to their chins...you have made an impression.

Sorry, was that meant to be rhetorical?

Apparently someone is trying to make a point. I suppose that these kind of people don't really read their responses -- they are mostly trolls.

Because all questions are rhetorical. There aren't any answers that we could possibly provide (that would be like a camera lens seeing itself).

rhetorical questions open up some serious debate that either enlightens or darkens your mind with more questions which in turn cause you to have a brain fart and conclude that being you is special ^^

I think its because people love to take a cheap shot and ask questions they really don't want answered. But I answer them anyway ^_^.
