What country would he marry her in, her's or his? Each country has it's own laws, but the answer is No. He has to apply to her country for citizenship and follow the same regulations as anyone in a similar position. There are costs involved and paperwork. He may have to apply there and then return to his country and await their approval which could be a long time.

My husband was in the us eleigely, We had a child then were married , We then filled the application with immagration , It cost alot of money to file and time to prosses but it has been five years and my husband is now a perminet resesdent . He is going to apply for citizenship next year .
When we went though it you only had to stay married for three years but things have probibly changed since.
