Why do we seek to awaken the higher self in others?

I would say instead that the Higher Self is actually already "awake" ... quite wide awake! The problem is, is that the physical body down here is still sleeping and isn't quite aware that they have a Higher Self (or several Higher Selves in Truth!)

But, if we turn the question around and ask "Why do we seek to awaken people to their Higher Selves?", then I would say that it's part of our roles down here for those of us aware, to help others to awaken to their Divine Nature. However they choose to assume their spiritual journey once they become more aware, then the Lightworker must step aside so that the person can continue their unique journey in discovering God and All There Is.

There are so many things in this world that are beyond our control- catastrophes, what kind of family we are born into, the opportunities with which we began our lives, etc....

Many people have developed coping strategies that work for them in different situations. They want to share this with the people they care about. This makes them feel like they are here for a reason because they have demonstrated the power to help make someone's life a little better or easier to deal with than it would have been.

In short, we want to help awaken the higher self in others because it makes up feel a little less powerless and vulnerable in our own lives.

Because when we see the other person as less than perfect we feel better ourselves. However, we need to work on us and accept that everyone already is perfect just the way they are.

Oh...let me see...to better mankind. Make this world a better place. To see ourself in others. To create an awareness for others with the awareness in ourselves.
