No it doesn't mean that sin doesn't exist anymore. First do you understand what sin is?
God gave us his Law, the Ten Commandments. Are the commandments then sin? Heavens no. What they tell us, what God expectations are and where we fall short.
When we choose to break Gods law then we separate ourselves from God. Have you ever told a lie? doesn't matter how big or small, what does that make you standing before a Holy God?
Have you ever stolen anything? what does that make you?
Jesus said that if you hate someone then you are guilty of murder, ever hated anyone? What does that make you?
There will be a time when you will have to stand before God and we all will be held accountable. I don't know about you but I am guilty and deserving of judgment. Payment will have to be made and there is one of two payments that will be made. Jesus died for the sins of those who accepted him. He paid a price so that anyone who comes to the foot of a blood stained cross can find forgiveness.
It doesn't remove sin from existence, only covers it with a price. Does it mean the faithful believers don't fall in to sin? No it doesn't. The difference is by choice or fall in to. By choice is planning and willing to do so. Falling in to means the moment sometimes gets the best of you. A Faith full believer will ask for forgiveness and the one who does it by choice could care less.
Forgiveness is a gift given to those who faithfully choose to believe but it does not remove sin completely from ones life.

That one was always rather illogical. There was some convoluted explanation, I don't recall it. Something to do with dying for the sins we were born with but after we take a breath we have free will and can start the sin meter ticking by making the wrong choices.
As I said very convoluted, but the church sold it.
Amen.
Oh yea, it also sprung all the characters of the old testament and all the unbaptised babies, that could not be baptised till the new testament, from Limbo.

No. The people of the Old Testament had their sins forgiven through the blood sacrifices that were offered by the priests.
When Christ died on the cross, his death did away with the sacrifices that the priests would have to make. Salvation would now be recieved through faith in Christ, and the work that He did on the cross.
When Christ died on the cross, the curtain separating the Holy of Holies, which only the Priests could enter to offer the sacrifices, was torn in two from top to bottom, giving those of us who place our trust in Christ, direct access to God in prayer.

Apparently, the 1st 2 answerers have not a clue.
Jesus, The Son of God, died on the cross willingly, that we (any of us, upon accepting Him as The Savior) might have the opportunity to have our sins forgiven (deleted).
We all sin and we can all be forgiven by accepting Jesus Christ as Our Savior. He, is the one and only way (according to Christian beliefs) to be forgiven for our sins. Without this, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven! (BTW, nobody gets a bunch of virgins when they enter here), Sorry! Besides, France burned their only virgin at the stake - (Joan of Arc).

Jesus died on the cross so that our sins could be washed away by the blood that he shed. You must ask forgiveness first and not do the sin again.

no He just forgives our sins, that doesn't take sins away. we can still sin, but if ask for forgiveness and really mean it our sins will be forgiven. when He died on the cross that meant that if we belive in Him we don't have to go to hell.

I know that some denomination say that you can't sin once you are saved. But I do not believe that at all!
But I believe that once you are Truely saved you can still sin. For Salvation (grace) is not an excuse for sinning. The way you act is up to you. Not according to the way you are saved or not.

Try reading Romans chapters 6-8. Basically, Jesus died for our sins, and it's up to us to accept his sacrifice and *show* that we accept it. John 3:16-18 states that we need to be "excercising faith in him." Excercise takes alot of effort and discipline..everyone knows that, but, in the end, it'll be well worth it because that same verse says: "in order that everyone excercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life."
