hey!
i am desperate for help!!! my hair is full of split ends, i have dark hair which means they stand out from a mile away. i am getting my hair cut every four weeks, but my hairdresser just doesn't seem to get rid of enough of them when she cuts my hair and i feel like i am wasting my time and money!! the last two haircuts i have had i haven't even noticed a difference! i haven't changed anything i have been doing! i have been doing the same things with my hair for about 6 years!!! i am using garnier fructis stuff to treat split ends, but its not working!i have recently lost 26kilos and my hairdresser says its probably linked to that, but she doesn't seem to sure!! i exercise every day and get pretty sweaty and wash my hair sometimes twice a day, but have been doing that all year pretty much! has this happened to anyone else? can you suggest something? are you a hairdresser??? PLEASE HELP!!

Ways to stop and prevent split ends in your hair:
1. ALWAYS use a good conditioner after shampooing
2. NEVER brush wet hair. ALWAYS comb from the ends of the hair to the scalp until tangles are gone.
3. Go to a different hairdresser who is knowledgeable about your specific hair problem and get a good cut. Call around until you find one who can answer your questions before you make an appointment.

Check out this awesome website!
http://splitends.bebto.com/preventse.htm
It talks in depth about all the factors that can cause split ends, ie the sun, brushing incorrectly, chemical products, washing incorrectly, drying incorrectly, and styling, incorrectly. It is awesome, especially if you want to grow your hair out really long. Did you know that if you put your hair up in a ponytail and then pull two sections of hair to make it tighter you are damaging your hair? The website has little tips like that to help prevent split ends. Oh and most products that claim to heal split ends will only work temporarily. I hope this helps. (:

the thing is your hair ph is unbalanced and there has to be some vitamines missing in your system that cause your hair tobe frail, you have to take radical action since your hair is acting in a radical way, you must change the way you are treating your hair to see a different outcome, try infusium by l'oreal shampoo and power pac conditionner of the same brand and if you are usin gstyling tools such as an iron or a blowdryer I suggest you stay away from the iron and turn down the heat of your blowdryer. and have your color done professionally if it applies. by putting all the chances on your side you cannot fail happy recovery...

you need to get more cut off when you get your hair cut. also use better shampoo, use professtional stuff not stuff from the grocery store. don't wash your hair two times a day, your hair needs its natural oils to stay healthy, try not to blow dry and straighten your hair every day and use products before you blow dry to protect your hair. i don't know how many 26 kilos is but anorexia does cause your hair to be brittle

You really have to get a trim. Or at least a haircut. Thats really the only way to get rid of them.
