you can suggest going to a free clinic together as a couple and get tested so that way you both know if either one of you has something or not. if she they say no or refuse to go then i would suggest protecting yourself and get to know the person before doing anything with them because you never know if they are hiding something from you. good luck and be safe.

I'd say first of all you need to know each other well enough to have built up the trust to know they are telling the truth, and to know that it's going to be monogamous. By that point you should be able to have the conversation before things get too far. I have been single for a year and the last time I was tested for stuff was right before my previous partner, we both got tested and came out clean. But I will still get tested again before sleeping with the next person, and insist that they do too.

Well, when I became single again, I went and got a full std screening. When I started dating my current boyfriend, I told him that I had been checked out and would need him to do the same if he wanted to have sex without condoms. He went immediately, even though he was sure he was clean. He was, but I wanted to know for sure. I even told him that it was not that I thought he was lying about it, but you do not always know if you have an std. My opinion is that if you are intimate enough with someone to have sex with them, you should feel comfortable enough to talk about it first.

Are you married to this person? If not, wait until you are. You still need to know his or her sexual history. You both should be tested to assure the other. To answer your question directly, just do it. It is a simple question.
