The same reason christians and muslims do - they're looking for converts.

That is a good question. I think that many self-professed atheists are just people waiting to find the spark that will open them up to their spirituality...or they could think it is cool to be an atheist and not have to feel accountable to anyone for their lives...or they could be fooling themselves and not really have enough information to make an educated decision about what they really believe. I would hope that some of them will read something on here and say: "Hey, that makes sense" and they will begin to question their own beliefs...maybe even be open minded enough to change their beliefs as they gain knowledge and understanding of deeper things.

there are atheists out there who don't bash, myself as one, and there are religious people who DO bash, plenty here. Atheists hold a view within the religion and spirituality, and it is that they believe there is no such thing as God. They are trying to convert other people just like the Christians and Muslims and the etc to them.

You don't have to have religion in order to be spiritual, atheists can be every bit as spiritual as you. Aetheists don't believe in your god, that doesn't mean they can't find spiritual happiness in themselves, not everyone is weak minded and have to seek inner strength in false idols and gods and seek strength in numbers such as is in the churches. Spirituality is a free form of belief, not a closed opinion like religion is.

Do a search! This question is asked EVERY DAY! Are you really that closed minded that you think atheists couldn't possibly have a curious interest in the subject of religion?

Because atheism is also a religion.
A religion is a worldview. Atheists have a materialist worldview commonly, and this means that we don't have souls and God doesn't exist (as the mayority of atheists think). We say "God exists", the say "God doesn't exist", and both positions imply actively believing in something.

I would disagree. I think the majority are here to enlighten.

Remember religion and spirituality are not synonymous. It is possible to be non-religious and still have a zeal for living.

Why don't teeny bopper Christian girls know well enough to look at that little section that pops up when you ask a question that shows this question has been asked billions of times?

Why don't bible thumpers stay out of the Gay section?

Questions that will never be answered...

Because we can, we're allowed, and some of us find the topic interesting despite our disbelief.

I do out-of-body style work. Is it any less spiritual because I know in some detail the neurology behind how it really works, that I know the trick behind the curtain?

They are either demons (that is with a small d) or they really believe in Him but they envy Him But to say they deny God actually means they believe in Him to even acknowledge Him. Any way at the time of death everyone believes in God because He comes in the form Of death Personified.
