I have epilepsy, I have grandmaul seizures about 3 times a year, I take Depikote for them, I am innocent of the crimes that I will be taking the polygraph for, it's for missing deposits which I may have been in contact with.

You'll be under some amount of stress. Is stress one of your triggers?

Beyond that, it's a simple matter of having pulse and respiration etc being measured while you answer questions.

I'd tell the polygraph person about your condition just to be sure.

Polygraph tests are not a reliable way of determining the truth. Sociopaths are able to get themselves to a point where they can lie without detection and those who are innocent are very often so nervous that the truth cannot be detected. I have a friend who is licensed to give the test and he says he's had old ladies have a problem passing it. That is why, in most states, polygraph results are not allowed to be admitted as evidence. Make sure you have consulted a lawyer/union rep before you do anything.

Polygraphs measure your heart rate, which makes them pretty much useless. As long as you believe that it is not going to make you look like you are lying, you can fake them. But with epilepsy, I would decline the polygraph with the proof from a psychologist that a polygraph is not legit in anyway (I learned this is psych 101) and also a doctor's note explaining your condition. No one can make you take one! The results of a polygraph cannot be used in court!! Therefore, they've no right to even ask for one!

I would decline the test in it's entirety and tell them they cannot make me take one, especially with epilepsy.

So ... are you planning on faking an epileptic seizure in order to fan the polygraph or what?

Besides, the results of polygraphs can't be used in court.

No it will not have an effect ( unless of course you have a attack while taking the test)

Next does your employment require you to take the test, the results are not usable in court as evidence and I would refuse to take a test unless I knew it was for my best interest.

Police can not force you to take the test,
