Viewing from all aspects, in terms of simplicity, presentation, but most of all, taste.
Also, how do you spell 'sandwhich' because it looks incorrect to me. Is there only one 'h'?
Oh lastly, a quick recipe of how to make it would be nice, but not required.

'Sandwich.'

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandwich

The greatest sandwiches in the world are vegetarian deli sandwiches, usually ones made at home from the highest quality ingredients you can find. 'Simplicity' undervalues the beauty of a good sandwich. Here's a good place to start:

Two pieces of a very good loaf of your favourite kind of bread.

Cover these on one side with your favourite kind of cheese. Set these in the oven under the broiler. Swiss on one side and a good old cheddar on the other works well.

While the cheese is toasting, assemble thinly sliced:

-- romaine lettuce
-- tomatoes
-- pickles
-- onion (sweet or red; Vidalia is nice if not much of an onion enthusiast)
-- green and red peppers
-- pickled hot peppers

And anything else in the fridge that looks likely. Meat _is_ okay; I just don't know how to advise on that topic.

While assembling this on the bread with the toasted cheese (which you've put on a low rack of the oven, so as to dry the bread and bake the cheese just so), add:

-- a creamy condiment (mayo, usually)
-- an oil-and-vinegar condiment ('Beano's Submarine Sauce,' or similar, is good)
-- a dash or two of hot sauce
-- salt and pepper, if those haven't been adequately addressed by way of hot peppers and pickles

Slice into quarters, neatly -- do this on a chopping block with a serrated knife -- use toothpicks to maintain sandwich integrity if necessary -- and place on a plate with a small pile of (good) potato chips at the side. A pickled onion on the side is a frill, but fripperies of sandwich presentation should not be overlooked.

True simplicity: egg salad. Cheese and onion. Cheese and pickle. Tomato.

The best "simple" sandwich is a Triple-decker Turkey Club on toasted wheat or rye with 4-5 strips of crispy bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and mayonnaise

Peanut butter and raspberry jam in between two fresh slices of plain white bread. Classics never get old, and I never got tired of P&J! They were made for eachother, like the sun and the moon. I love to flatten the bread until I have a type of sweet quesadilla.

By the way, sandwich does only have one 'h.' :)
I don't think you need the recipe for my fav, do you?

Here you go:
Two slices of whole wheat bread, two thick slices of turkey breast, dressing,(stuffing) and cranberry sauce. Spread the cranberry sauce on both slices of bread, add your turkey breast, and dressing, some romaine lettuce and if you like, a little mayonnaise. We eat ours without any mayonnaise, because the cranberry sauce is enough. This is a fantastic sandwich.

It is spelled "sandwich." There is a spell checker right above the question field.

The best sandwich is turkey breast, alfalfa sprouts, avocado on wheat bread with mayo and just a smidgen of Catalina dressing on the alfalfa sprouts. Tasty.

Peace.

Oh, I like a club sandwich. Pretty simple. Toast 3 slices of bread, spread them with mayo, place lettuce, tomato and bacon on one piece of toast, add second piece of toast and either turkey or ham (or both) and a slice of your favorite cheese (my secret ingredient) and top with last slice of toast. Serve with dill pickles and chips. I also like homemade chicken or egg salad. The egg salad has to be on whole wheat bread with lettuce. But then you can't beat a deluxe cheeseburger, either.
