Hmm, interesting. Female here, so I would have no clue as to why. But I have heard of married couples that talk to each other while on the pot. I personally, would kindly tell them to leave because I need the personal privacy! But for guys in public restrooms, you might as well say something back...lol.

Being female, i do not encounter this issue, however, i must say you gave me a good laugh. i would find this very uncomfortable if i were in the rest room and some female wiping her self in the next stall with the door open struck up a conversation. I think i would have to wait and use the restroom at another time. That is just to funny. I think if i were a male i would turn and answer while urinating all over them. that may teach them a very valuable lesson. LOL Good luck and God bless

Dude! I agree, but then again, I hate strangers making small talk to me no matter what I'm doing. Seriously, I don't want my barber to know my entire life story. I just want my hair cut. You know?
Yeah, and the whole talking while having your *( hanging out is totally funny because you typically think of making eye contact when you speak, yet, here you don't want to look in the general direction of another person. There are some things we don't need manners to do. We can ignore one another. Peeing is one of them.

I have experienced that too, and to me it is a bit too familiar for my liking. I just wanna get out of that germ-filled room as soon as possible and forget it ever happened. People who talk i nthe stalls are even worse, and those who say your first and last name so everyone can hear it are the worst of all!

Well, I'm a woman, so I don't know about the hangout thing, but... I find it very disconcerting when someone wants to chat with me while I'm in the bathroom - and most women do it. We go to the bathroom in 2s and 3s (or more) and talk the whole time we're there. It's herd instinct I guess. I just don't enjoy it, and it makes me really incoherent.

Dude, you are so right! Do your business without the chatter. For some reason, I don't find nearly as strange while I am washimg my hands, but I could do without that too.

I do not anwer, they usually won't ask twice. If they ask twice, turn towards them to answer....they'll never ask again.
