For my two sons: Integrity, the value of working for what they want, respect for women, confidence and self esteem. So far at ages 19 and 21, they are fine young men.
For my two daughters: Confidence, their own internal value (I do not want them comparing their self worth to what they see on TV), and self worth (they do not need a man to be successful in life). I make it a point to let them know they are beautiful, smart, and can do anything in life that they set their minds to. So far at ages 7 and 10, they play hockey and basket ball with the boys in the neighborhood, and house and dolls with the girls. Oh ya, the most important thing - I tell them their Dad loves them at least once every day, .

I feel awful when my boy, 12, is harassed at school. When he is teased, because he allows it, I hate it. I remember at that age being tortured by other kids, and I hate so much that kids do that to my child also.
