I'm being 100% serious. This is not a joke.
Sceintology was founded by science-fiction writed L. Ron Hubbard. He is quoted as saying something to the effect of "it's worthless to be an author and earn a penny per word. If you want to really become rich, start a religion."
Millions of years ago, the great cosmic destroyer Xenu collected creatures from many different worlds. He brought them to earth and dropped them in the earth's supervolcanoes. There he destroyed them with Hydrogen bombs. Their spirits were tainted by radioactive energy and they became known as anagrams. These anagrams still wander the earth causing infection and disease in humans.
Scientologists can progress through different levels and become Thetas. Thetas can eventually attain the ability to read the minds of these anagrams. The goal of scientology is to rid yourself of anagrams incase Xenu returns from conquring planets.
They also believe psychology is evil. Perhaps they don't want to take their medication.
This is not sarcasm. This is really what they believe.

Read Dianetics....Its a nice summation of the basic principlals of Scientology....There are too many threads that are common throughout the whole concept that can be answered in a single yahoo answer except.....it deals with the reactive mind and how we carry things with us from our past and allow them to negatively shape our present day emotions to certain stimilui

Someone told me they believe that aliens came here from another planet. Or people were put here from aliens. and they are watching our progress in science.
