Sit ups DO NOT WORK!!!! All they do is build up the muscles underneath the fat and will cause your stomach to look even bigger. Diet and cardio is the best way to get rid of fat. But if you do the sit ups along with the diet and cardio, your stomach will be ripped as the fat comes off!!!
Oh, and 1500 calories a day is very unhealthy. 2000 is the max when trying to lose weight. And don't eat 5 McD's cheeseburgers. The sodium in the cheeseburgers will cause you to bloat and the cholesterol is so unhealthy!!! Eat fruits and veggies and lean meats.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

You can not get rid of fat off certain body parts, all you can do is reduce your overall body fat percentage. Your genetics will decide where the fat comes off first. You need to burn more calories than you consume in order to reduce bodyfat. Sit ups are not a great exercise to reduce bodyfat. The best exercise is running, which requires no equipment

Unfortunately, the body can't spot reduce. Meaning it can't take fat from one particular area. When you lose body fat, you lose it over your entire body. Although crunches are a great exercise to strengthen and tone the abdominals, a layer of fat will still hide the visible "six pack" unless your diet's in check . Make sure you eat 5-6 meals/snakes per day. Focus on clean, balanced meals with combinations of:
Protein (chicken, turkey, egg whites, whey supplements, etc...)
Carbohydrates (Sweet potato, brown rice, oatmeal, etc...)
Fats - (olive oil, avocado, flax seed oil, almonds, etc...)
Be sure to stay well hydrated. A good rule of thumb is to take your body weight and divide it in half. The number you get should be the minimum amount of water to drink each day. The reason is water bring nutrients to the cells and takes waste away.
Lastly, you have to move. Try to exercise 4-5 days per week. Include weight training and cardio.
Hope this helps,

The healthiest way to prevent a fat stomach is by ensuring that your weight is normal for your height. You can reduce belly fat by doing activities like walking swimming and rowing. Such activities help in supplying enough oxygen to the body to burn fat.More info at http://www.toloseweight.org/losestomachfat.html

most belly fat is towards the bottom of the abdominal region, leg lifts work tremendously. sits ups and crunches work better if the legs are elevated while performing the exercise

I guess really the best way would be to do crunches and sit-ups. Cardio, like running, would also help you shed some pounds also. There are sweat belts you can wear too while you work out to help lose wait around your stomach. Not sure what their really called but if you "Google" sweat belt you might find something.

the best exercise you can do for you abs is lifting a fork. there is no exercise that will make your abs show if they are covered by fat. get your diet in check to reduce body fat. you can still work you abs to build up muscle but it does no good if your body fat % is too high.

Yes, but so does walking. 30 min a day, 3 times a week and eat only 1500 calories a day. That's like 5 Mcdona'ds cheeseburgers a day! (310 calories per cheeseburger) :) It works for me! I only weigh 110lbs!
