What can I do to help her feel otherwise? I want her to be happy.
(She's had a rough past, and thinks shes made huge mistakes which only adds to her negative outlook.)

Just be there for her. There is nothing you can really do to feel otherwise. I know how she feels. I think that everyone who has ever been in love has felt that their mate could do better than them at some point. Let her know that everyone has made huge mistakes. I am sure you have made mistakes too. Although most people view their own mistakes as worse than they may seem to others because they are the ones who have to live with them. Just let her know how much you care. That is all you can really do. Tell her you don't want anyone else. That there is no better than her.

You are not the answer to her happiness,, that come from within. she needs to deal with her past demons and move on with a bright future with you instead of trying to Nix it before she gets hurt.. That is the bottom line,, better to push away than get hurt!

If she thinks you can do better than her....she has problems that you can't fix.

Suggest she see a therapist to put her rough past into perspective and come to terms with it......and you should maybe fade out for awhile.

She's got to see her light for herself. All u can do is be there for her. I know. I have a gf with low self esteem. It's draining on you tho'.You have to be careful not to buy into her trip. Good Luck!! On the other hand, as one or two here have said; you MAY have been elbowed.

She needs professional help to get past her negative self image. Help her find a counselor or therapist that can support her efforts to rise above her past. Good luck!

There is nothing you can do to change what she is feeling inside. Just keep loving her, and maybe give her some distance sometimes to help her figure out what she really wants.

If you really care for her tell her you care for her & really like being with her.

Tell her it's not so much making mistakes as learning from them & not making them again.

Tell her of all the good things about her & the good things she does. Tell her the things about her that you like.

Get her to talk to somebody that can help her build her self esteem or she will have a misable life ahead of her.
