Does the infiti by conair really work?

it looks really good. i think it says it drys and straightens, correct me if im wrong please, because i really need something like that. Does it work?

I bought a dryer/straightener for my daughter and I won't let her use it with her hair wet. She started off doing it that way and you could hear her hair sizzling. That can't be good.
