It does depend on what state you are in. In many states you need only a drivers license or documents that provide the information on a drivers license(such as a state issued ID) and you must only be 18 years of age to purchase a long gun.

a shotgun is like a pistol or rifle, you will have to submit to a background check then fill out a firearms purchase form. thank sara brady for this

it depends where u live in the country. most states u just need a hunting license and drivers license for positive i.d.
