seriously...ironing your hair can do damage even using only a couple days a week...most people don't know this but your hair SHOULD NOT be totally dry when ironing..only about 80 %...if your hair is totally dry an iron takes the remaining natural moisture out of your hair...i would recommend using a leave in cond. or thermal protecting spray to avoid damaging the hair and if you have diff. heat settings on iron, use the lowest needed to get your results.

I agree about Chi...I use the iron guard and it is great..

My hair was damaged before I even began using an iron but now I use it everyday and I haven't damaged it any more than it already was. My hair just looks better when I straighten it.

Yes it will still damage your hair in the long run. Even on the lower settings, irons are way too hot for your hair.

it will damage your hair if you do not use a product to protect it Chi makes the best products for straightening your hair. You can use their silk infusion or 44 iron guard. Both are fabulous. I am a cosmetologist

It's fine 2 iron ur hair. But if u want ur hair 2 b healthy be sure 2 moisturize ur hair. applying any amount of heat will eventually damage ur hair. moisturizers gives it good texture and more shiny, health looking hair.

Ironing your hair on Mondays can be bad. Thursdays are worse. And never, NEVER iron your hair on Tuesday, unless it's raining. Then it's OK. As for Saturday or Sunday, sorry, I'm busy those days.

Yes, it will damage it no matter what days you straighten it. However, it will not do as much damage as it would if you were an everyday straightner. Just make sure you are conditioning and hydrating it well, use a protectant spray on your hair as well.
