Define lives comfortable? Yes, the ranks you mention definetly are mid stream middle class America. The upper classes of the Military (field grade and general grade) make great money. While the rest of the Army will receive a 2.2% cost of living pay raise in 2007 many of the general grade office are receiving 8.7% which is about a $1400.00 per month pay raise. If you do go to the pay charts make sure you look at all the benifits also. You don't pay into a retirement fund and you don't pay medical insurance. You also get extra compensation if you decide to live off post. Officers have it made compared to the enlisted side of the house. A brand new LT gets paid about the same as a SSG (E-6) with 6-8 years experience.

accountability. An NCO supplies directives. those are training to get orders accomplished. officers provide orders. meaning that its the officer's neck if something is going incorrect. it is likewise why it extremely is different regs interior the UCMJ for disobeying an officer's order as a exchange of a NCO's directive. Officer's are liable for each and every little thing that is going on in that unit. to illustrate, officer's could desire to write the letters living house whilst somebody dies, because of the fact they're those that make the decesion that allowed it to take place. the different section is that officer's skill are quite marketable on the grounds that they're frequently youthful in comparison to the NCOs of a similar accountability. So an officer can go away and get a severe paying job because of the fact they're youthful and characteristic the administration experence. An NCO has some marketability, yet on the grounds that they're frequently older, the officers have a large side interior the civilian international. in case you evaluate, you will see that a Lieutenant frequently makes a similar quantity as a E7. there is attending to be a descripency now on the grounds that dissimilar E7's are transforming into promoted beforehand, beforehand the time in service and a LT have been close. That style grew to become into started out interior the eighty's and keeps at present to even out a similar administration point. additionally, enlisted have bonuses are re-up the place in simple terms specialied officers, alongside with medical doctors get bonuses. I even have seen some bonuses for the nicely suited MOS that equivalent a LTs each year pay.

depends. Can you budget? are you willing to live in a smaller home and drive a used car? can you get by with just one credit card, and not a half dozen maxed out?
Then yes, you can live quite comfortably on O3 pay. the trick is only getting the amount of housing you can afford( under BAH), understanding that you can't always have the latest and greatest toys and sticking to the gas sipper practical mid size sedan and not the great big honkin SUV that gets 8 MPG.
oh, and ZigZag.. tell that to my husband who spent 6 months babysitting oil terminals and standing watches in triple digits and hostile territory. he earns his paycheck just as much as the E5 out there with him.

pay is based on rate, and time served. housing allowance is based on where your stationed. you only get a set amount for a family. no extra $ per kid. sorry. you do though get that ohhhh so stellar free military medical and accsess to the commisary/exchange. also depending on his rank and job he may need to live on base in officers housing. the quality and size depends on the base, the branch, etc.

Yes they do. They get more then a SSG with 15 years in the Military and I think that in my opinion they get entirely to much for not doing nothing but paper push.
