Leased a Ford Focus ZX3 in 2001. Yup, feul pump problems, check engine light on never goes off, fuel cap check light comes on and off whenever it feels like it. Now I think I have a trans problem. Giving up on Fords. But now my father-in-law wants to give us his Ford Explorer. '98 I think. Gotta have faith. I don't think it's the make, I just think it's the quality of individual models.

I owned a '88 Escort that I drove brand-new off the lot. It lasted exactly six months after I made the last payment. I was told that it was the worst engine put in an Escort. My fiancee gave her '93 Escort to a friend that drove it across the country. A few months later, it was dead. I am now on my second European car and my fiancee is on her second Japanese one (only because we updated). I don't hate Fords (or American cars) per se, but for the money there are other options. I disliked it when Ford changed the Jaguar (sp?) to look just like a Taurus initially.

no, I have a 90 F-450 rollback wrecker just had the motor replace at 960050 thousand miles so no ford is the best.

Nope...I LOVE em! I've had MANY over the years, and they WERE crap back in the 70s and 80s, but all American stuff was. Since the 90s, they've been great.
