Caffeine from any source suppresses appetite thereby not allowing the "user" to get all the nutrition he/she may otherwise. Without the added nutrition, growth may slow.

Exactly! Caffeine does not stunt growth. Those are stories mother's like mine told to their kids so they would not drink coffee until they were older... I actually loved coffee as a kid and she was worried that it would do just that. Trust me it didn't. When I was in the Air Force we often had to work for a full 24 hours while on a 24 hour on and 48 hour off shift rotation. I was popping caffeine pills which were 200 mg (equal to 2 large cups of coffee) all night long trying to stay awake. (Sleeping was a court martial offense.) I could not drink that much coffee as I was not able to go to the bathroom easily either. There were nights when I had ingested as much as a 1,000 mg without much long term effect. There is caffeine bottled in sterile 1,000 mg doses which were used years ago to stimulate infants who were having difficulty, and needed to be stimulated while in the hospital. This caffeine was injected directly into their veins. Interns who were working as long a 36 hour shifts without sleep often broke these bottles open, as they were never really used by that time, and simply drank the whole bottle all at once to stay awake. My son, who is a physician, drinks so much coffee at work he has withdrawal headaches when he is not working say on vacation, and does not drink as much coffee as he does at work in the Emergency Room. It sure never stunted his growth either.

Whoever said that caffeine stunts growth? If that is the case, anything that has caffeine in it would stunt growth.

Well caffeine is the only active ingredient in coffee. But caffeine does NOT stunt growth. If anything it accelerates growth, because it is a stimulant and thus it quickens your metabolism.

Only if you put too much caffeine in your blood. There is a spanish coffee called Bustello that REALLY pushes the caffine levels dangerously high up in your blood stream. What to do; drink smaller cups of coffee, less coffee. People drink quarts of coffee each day.
NOT a good idea. IT WILL mess you up eventually.
