dont do it.you could seriously screw up your tongue..i had mine peirced for 8 years before i took it out about 6 months ago, and ihad it professionally done. It still hurt like hell and was swollen for days. You need sterilized equipment and someone who knows how to do it because there is a huge vein in the tongue that if you pierce you could really screw up your tongue. SERIOUSLY...8 years ago i paid 50 bux and that included jewelry...it may be cheaper now so just get it done by a professional.
Seems your wanting to hide it from your parents...you wont be able to. Your tongue is just about guaranteed to swell, and all i could eat for several days was rice and ice cream. You talk with a lisp until you get used to it. They will find out if you do it anyway. If you want one why not sit down and talk to them about why? they can sign a parental consent form for you to get it done. Otherwise you gotta wait til your 18. And anyone who is willing to do it without parental consent you dont want them to do it. If they dont follow the law about that, then they probably dont follow the law about sterilization and clean needles.

It is not safe at all, and the ONE person I know who did it wound up loosing a lot of blood. My suggestion is don't do it. NEVER EVER self piercer. Its more painful and there are tons more complications that people think.
Self piercings are rarely easy because you have control of the needle, you tend to go slower and it becomes more painful. Also the tongue is not an area you want to use the method of trial and error. I pierced my navel myself (4 of the 6 holes) and it wasn't bad, but I could barely finish the last one. Even using professional tools and knowing what I was doing, its not something I will ever do or condone again.

i think you have to be joking!
tongue piercings are really complicated to do, you may manage to do one yourself but it is almost guaranteed to be squint!
and you will probably hit a vein and bleed to death in the process!
i have had my tongue done for about 5 years, and i have to be honest with you it is not a very exciting piercing.. after about a week people you stop being aware of it and so does everyone else(so if it is the reaction you are wanting i would not bother with something as mundane as a tongue piercing)
wait until you are old enough, or pop over the the uk cause you can get pierced when you are younger here

Please do not pierce your tongue by yourself- have a professional do it, and make sure the professional is reputable. As everybody here agrees, doing it yourself will cause you nothing but pain and infection. Save your money and hire a pro. And as for talking, just expect that no matter how you pierce it, you will talk funny afterwards. Don't pierce your own tongue! If you can't spell it don't pierce it! Obviously your too young for that anyway! So leave the needles to the professionals and keep your tongue in good health by not putting something through your own tongue! That is something you really shouldn't do to your self! Go to a Piercing shop where they do it for you!

I hope you're kidding...there are so many bad things that can happen if you do that. You can bust a blood vessel in your tongue and bleed like crazy, or if you miss that and your tongue swells up big enough, you can suffocate and die. Also, if the needle is infected you can get HIV/AIDS. Don't even try it, leave it to the professionals.

uh, you dont have a tong. you may have a tongue, tho. you should really think about getting it done professionaly done, since there is an artery in your tongue, and if it gets infected, the infection goes straight to your brain. you could die if that happens. there is also a nerve that runs through your tongue, if you hit that sucker, you can paralyze yourself. and there is no way to avoid swelling, its gonna happen and youre going to get caught. please go see a piercer, its the smartest and safest thing to do.

do NOT pierce your tongue by yourself!
it's very possible that you'll seriously damage your tongue, hit a blood vessel, or not do it right... then you would have to be in the hospital!!!
it's also very easy to get an infection on the tongue!
please go see a professional on getting a tongue piercing ^^

Your an idiot. It's extremely dangerous to pierce it yourself. If you hit a vein you could bleed to death. If you hit a nerve you could paralyze part of your face. If you get it infected it could kill you. I highly recommend that you leave it to a professional.

ARE YOU STUPID? I GUESS YOU ARE IF YOU WANT TO DO IT YOURSELF. You could do major damage. Plus you could get infection and that isn't like piercing your ears. Go to a perfessional to have it done, at least they know what they are doing.
