I was fortunate enough to grow up in a Christian home, so the first verse I memorized was John 3:16-"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

Well, back in 1968-1969 it was still "ok" for Gideons to drop off Bibles in schools here in Texas, so I got me my first Bible.

The verse that meant the most to me (sorry, don't remember where) had to be about not being of this world, not focusing on the here and now, being different was alright.

Just important at that time because it was during my early teen years when peer pressure was strong and bullying was taking it's toll. Thanks for asking.

I remember learning about Moses and Noah in sunday school.... WAY back there.... I remember memorizing the verse "so God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only son, so that whoever should believe in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life". Problem is, I can't remember what verse it is!!

John 17:3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

I'm from a Catholic background and the doctrine of the trinity did always bothered me, this Scripture cleared my faith, there is not such thing.

John 8:32 and YOU will know the truth, and the truth will set YOU free.”

I can remember having to recite the 23rd Psalm for my mothers friends. Even for a first grader that was humiliating.
