Definitely Prayer and Meditation.
It's good practice to pray a couple of times a day, giving gratitude for love, support, guidance and the gifts you receive. It's really good to meditate three times a day if you can, if not .. twice a day is good.
Pray and meditate first thing in the morning, as soon as you wake ... during this time, your mind is silent and unfettered from the day, and making your intentions in your prayers and meditations are most meaningful at this time.
Setting some time mid-day for a brief meditation is also good, as in doing so helps to clear away "clutter" from the day so you can be spiritually refreshed.
Meditation and prayer in the evening is perfect too. Perfect because you can recount your experiences from the day, and dialogue with God about what those learnings were ... and too, expressing gratitude again as well. Meditation just before sleep is good, as it helps to attune to your higher selves, spiritual guides and angelic guides. At that time, you can set your intentions with your guides as to what you want to learn and experience while you sleep.
The next prescription for enhancing awareness, is to heal the Heart. Our Hearts become clogged up with old energy that bogs us down and clouds over much of our inherent spiritual abilities. There are several methods for doing this - prayer of course, but also doing some energy work in clearing out the heart chakra. One can seek out the help of an energy healer, or can even use crystals themselves (i.e. combination of Rhodochrosite, Rhodonite and Rose Quartz).
Blessings of Golden Love on your Divine Journey!

One, meditation is good. Of course you need to learn how to do so, for we in the West do not practice too much silence and clearing of the mind of our thoughts. By doing so, you allow those thoughts which are of purer ideals enter into your thinking.
But, one can also do this by not allowing thoughts of negativism to enter. Not even like "oh, it's raining, makes me sluggish".
It is guarding your every thought. Being aware of yourself with others, that you do not even allow their thoughts to become your thoughts, you must not listen to nor participate in what I call bad thoughts, only that which is good and uplifts your thoughts.
In so doing, called standing porter at the door of thought, you then begin to see the world in a different light, your have fine tune your thought process in such a way that it will begin to receive images of those things you see each day with a light of beauty, a soundness of the ear and the reality that everything has a tone of which you can master, just like math.
Its not hard, its just doing, (as Niki would say). You will find as your thought begins to comprehend your reality, you will become more and more liked and loved by those around you and a blessing to those you come into contact with.
Good luck...good question.

Go into a secluded quiet area or an area in which you are not distracted. Sit down in comfortable position and listen. Do not talk. Listen to your surroundings, focus on one thing. Do not allow your mind to wonder. Becoming aware is a trained response.

if you have self knowledge, this alone will fine tune your awareness of other things because it takes you into the equation and makes you clear on how you see the world, and how you may be subjective toward it.

Look at all problems through many perspectives. Don't just narrow your mind into one way. Even if you are told this is the answer just because, and then they have all this proof, don't just give in. Always constantly question it. Always question the surrounding world, no matter how sure it thinks it is.

Prayer and exercise spiritual patience. Listen and act on promptings, even how odd/weird they might seem.
The more you exercise it by practicing, the stronger you'll get.
