As Lord of the sabbath...
It reminds me that He is over all on Saturday.
As church gathers on Sunday, it's yet another day to sanctify to Jesus.
The first day of the week, and the last day of the week.
Jesus is Alpha & Omega, and by the way, Lord of EVERY day.

Unless you are Jewish, it shouldn't change anything at all. The Jews celebrate the Sabbath from sundown Friday until sundown Saturday. Early in the first century, Christians began holding services on the first day of the week, Sunday, which they called the Lord's day, because Jesus rose from the dead on a Sunday. I don't think God is that particular about which day you honor, as long as you do set aside some time to worship him. Churches have lots of different services on lots of different days. God only cares that you worship Him, the day doesn't matter all that much.

Since Jesus is Lord of the sabbath you should realize that we have our sabbath rest in Him. Every minute of everyday, when you pray and think about Him and what He has done; that is celebrating the sabbath. Sunday is the Lord's day...to gather in fellowship with other believers...to strengthen in faith and remember His resurrection. The Lord's day and the sabbath are completely different. The sabbath is not carried over to the New Testament or to Christians. It is Christ who is our sabbath rest. He has come already. So celebrate and glorify Him. He gave us rest already.

Jesus is the Lord of the sabbath. He also said that the sabbath was made for man.not man for the sabbath. God wants more from you than Sundays and Wednesday nights. He wants all of you. Does that give you any perspective?
