I think they had a court order because it must have been very serious trouble you got in. And they sended you and your family for counseling.Maybe their looking for back talking and defiance, out bursts and temper tantrums.Lack of motivation, acting out in school, hanging with the wrong crowd. And counciling can restore family harmony in the home. Like looking out for each other and caring. Your counselor will try to tell you are a good person. And work with the family also. And try to restore harmony with each other. They don't want you to end up in a childrens jell cell. I don't want that either. But it takes time to open up to a counselor. You can do it! and you and your family work WITH the counselor. Remember everyone has a dysfunctional family. And no family are like the Vontrapp children in the sound of music. we all don't go around singing in the Austrian mountains. So hang in there. You and your family can do it! don't break the law. We all no the differences from right and wrong. Good luck!

Coz when the kid is getting in trouble, the kid's behavior is the symptom of a problem. The family often needs to communicate better and do more together. Counseling could benefit the family in learning how to improve interactions with each other and you. There are probably other more specific reasons that I don't know why you all were court ordered to have counseling. Take it seriously and good luck.

Because the court feels that the problems are much bigger than you getting in trouble at school. The court feels that your family has issues that are contributing to your behavior and they feel that it would help the whole family take responsibility for what it does and how it influences you . This way, you are not singled out as the only one who is causing problems...It's actually a good thing...

Yes, I do have an idea why. It's because when a child misbehaves, the parents are being made accountable for the child's misbehavior. In fact, if you come late to school quite a few times... your parents have to take a special class, where they will be taught how to make sure you wake up on time and get to school on time. If the parents don't attend those classes, they have to deal with the police. It's like that where I live. My husband used to give that kind of class.

I think that's a bunch of BS nowadays when kids have trouble in school the courts and teachers automatically link the trouble to lack of parenting and that there is possibly something going on in the household.
