You DO NOT need to take it consistently to get the best effect. The data on that website posted in the first response is 20 years old and related to taking it for seizures. For anxiety Klonopin can be taken as needed. Research shows that it can slow mental functioning and reduce memory. As one person suggested, you might want to take it the night before. Since Klonopin has such a long action, you should still be getting mild effects the next morning. Enough to help with the anxiety but not too much that it will sedate you.
I strongly recommend bringing some with you. Often times we find that just having it available is reassuring. If you do find that you need to take it, chew it and drink some water. That will turn it into a powder and the water will wash it into your stomach where it can be quickly absorbed. A little trick I picked up working in an ER.
Good luck!

.5 mg's is almost nothing. Don't worry about it. Some people get so nervous they can't concentrate on the test. Go ahead and take it. If you know the material you'll pass. Klonopin or no Klonopin.
One more thing. Just some friendly advise from someone who's taken a licensing exam. Use every minute of the 2 hours. If you're done in an 1 1/2, spend the next 1/2 hour going over your work.
Good luck!

It really depends on how you handle standardized testing. If you have been well prepared in the past and froze then I would consider a small dose for your nerves. But if you've manged to settle in and do ok then I would not take it. Also test it and consider how much it effects your energy level. May be on a pre test of sorts.I almost don't want to say this but another thing to think through is if this anxiousness is gonna affect your sleep prior to the test. In that case the meds may cause more energy problems.Exercise is a good way to calm yourself down and also consider deep breathing and other relaxation techniques. Bottom line if you are well prepared, you 'll do fine. Rent a comedy the night before and relax. Remember You think. Therefore you are.

I take it, too. I would not take anything before that test. Use other relaxation skills like deep breathing. I know I took a klonopin today, and then I was trying to write an email-just an email-I had to stop.

Klonopin works best when there is a constant amount in the bloodstream. To keep blood levels as constant as possible, take your doses at regularly spaced intervals and try not to miss any.

I would suggest a few days before you take the test, take the pill and take a practice exam. If you can think clearly and it relaxes you then you are good to go.
If you have problems, then I would suggest you don't take it.
Everyones body reacts differently to medication.
