I am sure we have all heard of the obvious faults the mormon church as gone through and been accused of. But mormons are just brainwashed into believing all of this nonsense! I know the nicest people who are mormons, yet they are blinded in their faith! I understand people are wierd...but how can someone possible believe in a religion with practically NO evidence?

It was really quite a simple process for a convert like myself. I used to be Catholic but had also visited many other churches prior to my baptism into the LDS church.

Here is the summarized version of why I believe. First, I attended the LDS church, where I felt welcomed and quite moved by the spirit. I was invited to meet with missionaries for a series of discussions. I met with them, learned about the church, and began to seriously read the scriptures and pray about what I should do. One day while praying, I felt the distinct impression that I should join the church. I was baptised a very short time later and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon several times and left on a mission one year later. Since then, I have remained faithful to my beliefs. I continue to read and re-read the scriptures, trying to implement their teachings into my life. This is where God has led me and I have been so blessed because of it. My life has been wonderful. I have been able to help so many other people change their lives as well.

So, it has nothing to do with being brainwashed or blinded by faith. It is simply a matter of study, prayer, living the Gospel, and receiving a witness from the Holy Ghost that the doctrines are true.

Have you ever stopped to consider the fact that when I read the bible that I see ample evidence to support my beliefs and perhaps wonder how other people can believe what they believe?

I hope this helps give you, at least, one persons perspective. If you have any specific questions, I would be more than happy to answer them.

I can understand where your coming from, because i never really understood or even talk to someone who was mormon until recently. Its funny you should say because i felt the same way you do. Such a great person having a belief in somthing so false. But I do not like to use the word "religion." For that is mans attempt in their best efforts to get right with God. Many different demoninations, or practices, that people follow that makes them feel like they can get in "good standing" with our creator. Thats why there are so many conflicts between these "religions" and people are fighting over it. Thats the result of tainting God's plan. We forget the reason Jesus came and died for us! He came so that we would have the true way back to the Father, and that He would establish the TRUE way of living. Thus, Christianity, which means Christ-like or little-Christ, is NOT a religion but merely the lifestyle of Christ that we are to replicate. Not by our own efforts, but made possible by the Holy Spirit in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Accept His Gift of salvation and experience the life of abundance. Dont make it hard on yourself when you know the answer! May the Lord Bless You Abundantly!!!

The spin doctors have been busy in the way that they put an attractive package on Mormonism so that people will join in. The thing that a lot of people have trouble with in the bible is the business of not being able to pay for salvation. The JW's and Mormons have capitalized on this and offer you a way to co-pay for your salvation.
As you may know, both the Bible and the Book of Mormon contradict that notion, but they teach it anyway.

Mormonism is very deceptive and there is no evidence to support it. It is an occultic religion and so there are occultic things to consider such as Mormons accept the Book Of Mormon being written by the practice of divination, and that revelations concrning Mormon doctrine came from spirits of the dead rather than Jesus Christ. Mormonism is a phenomenon, but it is spiritual deception and it is opposed to every Christian/Biblical doctine.

People don't need evidence to get satisfaction from their religion. If it makes them happy, helps them feel fulfilled and does not hurt them or anyone else, then it's as good as any other. No religion really has a shred of factual evidence to support it. But people still like having one. Some people also enjoy the sense of community that religions can bring.

Maybe they like their afterlife plan better, I mean, in how many other churches can you get to BE a god in the next life ?
If I was to go theist again, that would be a major selling point.

Just let the Mormons believe what they want. If Mormonism floats their boat, then just respect that and leave them alone.....

Might as well ask how many people believe in Muhammid or the Pope....by their fruits you will know them....and both are guilty of horrendous and evil actions.

Maybe they actually read the Bible, and apply what it says.
