Peanut butter has been around a very long time and has acutally been found in Peruvian tombs.
Dr. John Kellog (corn flakes) created a peanut butter for patients with no teeth because is was a great source of protien. Thas was in 1890.
IN 1904 c h Sumner used at the St Louis Expo and called it health food.
1922 Rosefield packing Co in Alameda Ca brought pranut butter to the commercial market by perfecting a process to keep the oil from separating in the peanut butter and using preservatives to keep it from spoiling. It was marketed as "Skippy" and stated that it was "churned".
Over 1/2 of the US peanuts grown are processed into peanut butter.

It was invented to show people the many uses of peanuts products. And peanut butter is healthy for you. Even though I am allergic to peanut butter only not peanuts, I make it for my child.

Probably accidentally by processing it and seeing the results. Peanut farm owners probably pushed it as a product so they could sell their crop.
