i vaccinated my baby daughter but i think nurse injected in wrong area.

nothing wrong ll happen.....but when u go 4 next vaccination of ur child.......do let know the nurse abt this incident......reason being they hav got few plans of giving vaccination 2 respective sides.......as they hav plan giving BCG 2 right side....as there is scar mark of it......etc etc......its just a plan of giving vaccination but havnt got any direct relation with the effect of vaccination.....it ll affect the same:)so just relax:)

The vaccine is injected into the muscle. It doesn't matter which muscle it's injected into. However, some areas are avoided just to make sure they don't hit a nerve.

So you don't have to worry about the vaccine working. It's still effective.

The nurse ought to know what she is doing. Maybe she is left handed and you were just expecting the vaccine to be somewhere else. If it went into the thigh anywhere the medicine will get into your baby's body the same. Ask the doctor if you are still concerned.

If the baby is a young infant, the injection should be given in the lateral side of the thigh. If older, it should be given in the upper outer quadrant of the buttock. The front and inner side of the thigh is not used to avoid nerve damage.

Vaccinations can be given in various ares, it does not have to be given in one particular area. It will work just the same.

dont worry i think they nw wot they doing. they give babies vaccines on bum usually too. i had blood test done ( mi knw not same as vaccine|) but she put in wrong vein and took needle out and jabed again at my arm. i got bruise off the wrong jabbing.

No she didnt. Muscle is muscle and she is far too professional to get it wrong. I think as parents we just worry too much
