Question

I'm having a problem w/ my husband downloading mass amounts of porn... I have found them and can see if they haven't finished in the Limewire programs (incomplete folder) I caught him tonight, and he swears he wasn't doing it.... I don't know how to bring up Limewires search history...........does anyone know how?

you shouldn't assume that *all* the men on here are gonna be pro-porn and not give you an answer, i don't download it but i can answer your question because it's a computer question not a porn question. of course you can choose to ignore my answer because i'm cursed with being of the male gender, should you wish :)

basically under normal circumstances, the search history is only stored in memory until limewire exits, there is not a permanent log of search terms as such - close limewire and it's all gone.

but what you *can* do instead which is far more effective is to do a search for specific types of video files created recently:
▪ start > search > 'for files and folders'
▪ click 'pictures video and music'
▪ tick 'video'
▪ click 'use advanced options'
▪ click 'when was it modified?'
▪ choose 'past month' (for example)
▪ click 'search'

when the search is complete you will have a full list of all video files downloaded to the computer within the past month regardless of where they are on the computer.

if you go to view > details in the search window, you will see things such as the 'date modified' column which is when the video or file was last played - meaning you can tally up file access times with when he was on the pc.

it also shows you where each file in the search results is stored, anything within a folder like:
c:\documents and settings\JIMBOB\my documents
are files in the 'my documents' folder of that specific user (the username is jimbob in this example)

you can of course use a windows search to find new *pictures* and other filetypes - experiment with other search options when you're comfortable with the instructions above.

i have the same problem, but if i could get on the computer which i cant because he has a password on it, i would just un-install limewire and find the most recent viewed files or just search around the folders and you should be able to find something,and then i would delete all the porn or put them all over the screen and leave it on there and when he comes home he will see it and freak out, then you can dump him for looking at it and lying to you.

Go to limewire and start typing something in search like women or girls etc and if he has not erased search history it should be a list there,You can also go to any media player you have on your system like real player,quick time,windows media and look for videos or recent played videos,You can also go to history on your IE an see what sites he has been to.I know my husband does it to and he said the computer is downloading it, I said it must be a male computer because all i see is women on here .Good luck

This isn't going to your original question, but I would wonder what the problem is about him downloading so much porn... perhaps instead of trying to "catch him," (which would most likely just lead to him getting angry and feeling like his privacy was being invaded) talk to him about why it bothers you (you feel like you can't compete with pornography for his affections, the files are taking up too much memory on the computer, he's ignoring other responsibilities because of his "porn time" or whatever reason it is) and try to come up with a practical solution from there. Being right isn't going to solve this one... good luck!

Click library then click incomplete files you can check all the history there but there's no chance you can view it coz those are incomplete files.You can read the title if it's porn or some other stuff!

You can try opening lime wire and click on videos and in the search field put a single letter, it typically trys to auto fill.

Whatever you do to restrict his fondness to porn is not going to work. It will probably create friction in your relationship. Just learn to live with it and just pretend that you're not aware. Good luck.
