Psychologically speaking, we don't forgive people for them, we forgive people for ourselves. Forgiving is a selfish act. It may not always feel like this is the case, but it is. Think about it. You can forgive someone without them ever knowing, and still reap the benefits. When you forgive someone, you are engaging in a process of self-growth.

To forgive yourself generally means you are taking responsibility for your own bad behavior, which is ten times harder than accepting (forgiving) someone elses bad behavior, which you have no control over anyway.

When you do wrong, you can be punished, or hated, but NOBODY can force you to accept responsibility for your actions except for you. This is what makes it so very hard. A person has to be very, very mature to discipline themselves.

If you cannot forgive yourself - you cannot forgive others.
there is no separation between others and you - only in your mind.
So that's where you have to start looking for what blocks your love towards yourself.
If you learn to love yourself as you are - you can love ( and forgive) others.
but you have to start with yourself. Because the problem is that you lack self-love

The devil will Tempt you to Sin.
If you do sin, the devil will beat you about the Head and Shoulders with Guilt.
When you finally ask GOD to Forgive you, GOD Does.
Then the devil will beat you about the Head and Shoulders with False Guilt.
(GOD has Already Forgiven you, now BELIEVE IT, and tell the Devil to go back to Hell with his False Guilt----in Jesus Name.)
