God's Holy Spirit [Ruach Ha Kodesh] inspired the minds and fingers of men to write the words preserved by "the People of the Book" for thousands of years, for all mankind.

If poets, musicians, and other artists can be inspired by what is called a "muse", then most certainly God's Spirit could easily have whispered in men's ears His direct words.

Ever wonder why the Bible outsells all other best-sellers consistently decade after decade? Simply because it was God's instruction book to mankind.

What makes this even more profound is that the advent of the computer has made it possible to prove that Bible codes are authentic. Many books have been written to show that mathematical codes and patterns weave and connect all 66 books of the Bible.

Ivn Panin, a Russian mathematician in a previous century even discovered the codes manually without the use of computers. He was cited by the Nobel Prize committee as having proven that the Bible is indeed of divine origin.

Try reading some of the books and going to some of the websites below. You will be enlightened. You will find that us "poor saps" are a little more enlightened and educated than you originally thought.

Here's an actual answer to your very real question:

No prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: BUT HOLY MEN OF GOD SPAKE [as they were] MOVED BY THE HOLY GHOST. II Peter 2:20,21

Also, if you click on the link below, you will find a chart showing the men inspired (breathed on by God the Holy Spirit) to write the books of the bible, as well as WHEN they wrote the books.

The primary part of your question is often asked and is an excellent question. God bless you!

The one most people are reading was written under the supervision of King James in England. They not only thought people would believe it, they were right to think so. They had some of the best writers available to make the language sometimes so beautiful. Hundreds of millions have bought the book and the story it tells.

How many people cry and pray when they see a smudge on a wall and think its the virgin mary?

How many people still think Elvis is still alive?

Anwyay, big chunks of the new testament are actually letters from Apostles or church leaders. No authors on most of them, though some believe the old testament books were written by women.

The Bible is the literal Word of God.
They are many writers. All inspired by God to make an account
of a particular event in history.
God speaks to us all by many methods.
We do not know what method He used with all the Bible writers.
But we do know He speaks to us today in many ways.
It's Gods way to guide us throughout life.

The Bible was written over about 1600years I think by about 40-45 different people from the near east and middle east. God is the Author of the Holy Bible. God was in control of what was written down and guided what was written down so that what He wanted written down was written down. God used humans to write down His word to us. The Holy Bible is the infallible word of God to mankind which is about God's plan to redeem those who believe in Jesus Christ the Savior. There are many reasons that we know that the Bible is God's word. Some reasons are: fulfilled prophecy, historical evidence, archeological evidence, scientific evidence, manuscript evidence, the evidence within the Bible itself, the changed lives of believers, and other reasons as well. www.equip.org and www.reasons.org
