You can't have a heart attack from a high heart rate. Heart attacks are caused by blockages in the coronary arteries. I'm wondering how you measured your heart rate. Don't trust the heart rate monitors on exercise equipment. They have a tendency to be inaccurate. Always check your heart rate by placing your fingertips at the side of your neck and counting while watching the second hand of a clock or watch. As for you heat rate.... 225 is high for someone your age. It shouldn't go any higher than 185 bpm depending on your fitness level.

That doesnt sound right. Think about it. Thats about 3-4 beats per second. Your heart would be fluttering. Im sure the machine was just wrong.

You likely won't damage your heart, but that is high to sustain for a long period of time.

Likely you wouldn't be able to sustain it for long anyway, because you would get tired.

its way too high but how did you measure it?? most tread mills are not calibrated and give eronus readings. your age is what you go by to dtermine your heart rate. so next time try a diferent tread mill and check it again.
