What's a good pet gift for a dog and a hamster? I need some GOOD opinions to help me find the best for my hamster and dog. If you have an opinion... keep the hamster and dog suggestions separate... I wouldn't want to get mixed up if I just woke up and half sleep in the morning ;) Thanks. BTW - To be specific --- The dog is a female, age: 2 years, and is a beagle/ labrador - but is more beagle. The hamster seems to be a teddy bear by the looks and actions, and shes 10 months old and female.

For your hamster .. Chew Toys...............Wooden pet chew toys are an ideal choice. Wood items should ideally be safe (stay away from cedar or other evergreen type woods), and pesticide and chemical free. If you are unsure a type of wood is safe, it is probably best to stick with items made for use by pets. Pesticide-free fruit tree branches from your backyard or hardwood wood blocks or shapes that are not chemically treated are okay for your hamster.

Willow balls, rings and tunnels are also marketed for rabbits, and the smaller sized of these items can be used for hamsters.

In addition to wood chews, cardboard can also be provided for chewing (and for hiding). Ideally, choose cardboard with as little ink as possible as there has been concern over the content of commercial inks in the past (I can find no solid evidence one way or the other on the safety of colored cardboard, and I have used colored cardboard for my mice, so don't panic if you are using colored cardboard). Hamsters also love cardboard tubes from paper towel and toilet paper rolls, although some people are also concerned about the safety of the glues used in these. Many hamsters regularly chew these items without problems, but if you are concerned there are now commercial tubes that are a bit sturdier and are said to be safe for chewing

For your dog ... I would suggest something that not alot would think about .. your time ..
thats all they really crave other then the apparent ..food and water ...
If its a out door dog a new dog house ? something soft for the inside of its house
Is it tied in the back yard ? a longer lead ..... and more time spent with you ...
Is it an inside baby ? a new doona ( blanket ) ..walks in the park
... Most of all the greatest gift that you can give her is time with you .....

The hamster might like a new cove (Bed) or maybe a bigger and better cage. Toys hamsters love include: Blocks of nontoxic wood, bottle lids, and bird toys.

Dogs have a long range of stuff they like. Try their favorite kind of toy or a new bed just for them.

Treats or a toy. One of the other answers said pigs ears but pigs ears are not regulated. At one time we got a batch of pigs ears that had all 3 of my dogs throwing up. Its the only time that happened feeding them pigs ears but why chance it.

for the female hamster, you could find it a mate as a present. or you could buy her a new hamster cage so that she can have more space to play in.
