I don't know what happens to a person that commits suicide. I do know that it is murder. I do believe that anyone who isn't a born again Christian is going to hell. Also if they are a Christian and they don't believe in once saved, always saved, then there is no other place for unforgiven sin then hell. I do believe in eternal salvation. I do understand salvation by grace. I have a hard time believing that an "unsaved' person would commit suicide. But let's say they did...I believe they are already forgiven past, present, and future sins...so no I don't think they will go to hell.

Anyone who dies is automatically in 'hell'. The original Hebrew and Greek words translated 'hell' from the Bible actually meant the common grave of mankind. The concept of a fiery hell where you're tormented forever was introduced into mainstream Christian beliefs centuries after the death of the apostles in a bid to control lay Christians. This was needed because the average guy reading the Bible could see that what the church was teaching was completely wrong, so they needed something to scare them with.
People who committ suicide can only be judged by God, as some are not in their right mind, and some are.

No they don't go to hell, that would be the same as saying the mental ill go to hell because they can't understand. The reason people commit suicide is because God wanted it that way are it would never happen. God has a plan for everyone put we don't know if God will have a plan that suits us.

I think that hell is something that controlling, manipulative people use to scare other people into submission. I don't think that a person who commits suicide goes to hell. However, I do feel that suicide is wrong. (In most cases, that is. There are circumstances where it is justified, but that's a whole different topic.)
People who commit suicide leave behind a lot of pain to the people they leave behind. They also miss out on the rest of their lives. Who knows? It could have gotten better. But they'll never know. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

I think that if a person asks God for forgiveness for contemplating and pre-meditating to follow through on committing suicide, they may be forgiven, but at the same time, they are showing God no trust in God's ability to see them through whatever the place and/or situation is they find themselves at. I think it's not my place to say whether such a person will go to hell, because I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

It s only a guess that people go to hell if they commit suicide.
What about all those people who are in so much physical pain, they think of nothing else. You put an animal to sleep, to stop there pain. Why not a human. Why not let them do it themselves,.
an not feel guilty.

No. someone who commits suicide is obviously not in a logical mental state.
Only God knows for sure if they go to Hell or not.

NO A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY THAT.
BUT GOD KNOWS THE HEART AND THE MIND.
WHEN A PERSON IS SO TORMENTED,GOD KNOWS.
AS LONG AS THAT PERSON HAS JESUS IN HIS / HER HEART.
DEPRESSION IS A MENTAL ILLNESS.
SO A PERSON WHO HAS HEART TROUBLE -THAT DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR BODY IS ALSO COMMITTING SUICIDE.

I believe murdering oneself is wrong. But whether or not they end up in Hell is between them and God. I wouldn't want to judge either way.
