I think it is a man thing. They are the ones who always want the biggest tree with the biggest balls on it. Perhaps it is the one time of year they can get away with overcompensation without catching too much flack.

Well, the phallic symbol it the obelisk that is above most churches. A very detestable thing to God.
The Christmas celebrations was actually blended into the religion by the early catholic leaders converting the barbaric and other tribes like the Celts.
They thought the power of the Lord would eventually dismiss the desire to follow the pagan rites and rituals. That of course, failed.
Scripture should had been adhered to.
1Co 10:21 Ye cannot drink the Lord's cup, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the Lord's table, and of the table of demons. .

do you understand what you read...
jeremiah 10-1
hear ye the word which the lord speaketh unto you
10-2learn not the way of the heathen
10-3for the customs of the people are in vain-for one cutteth a tree out of the forest
10-4they deck it with silver and with gold, they fasten it with nails and hammers, that it move not
10-8 but they are altogether brutish and foolish, the stock is a doctrine of vanities
10-9 they are all the work of cunning men
10-14 every man is brutish in his knowledge
10-15they are vanity, and the work of errors
10-19 woe is me for my hurt my wound is grievous, but He said"truly this is a grief and I must bear it"
10-20 for my tabernacle is spoiled and all my cords are broken
10-21 for the pastors are become brutish and have not sought the lord
10-22 behold the noise of the brute is come and a great commotion...to make a den of dragons
10-25 pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not
get it,man has created traditions and follows them with an authority that is supported by pastors that do not follow Gods word.
all this hurts God, but He will deal with it in time.

I know the date was the same as sun worship. The candles represented the sun and I knew they had orgys at that time.
But the balls as ancient Phallic symbol? Makes sense.
What suprises me is the church sanctions it.

Because Christianity was mainly forced on people so those forced did not have a clue about Christianity so they basicly continued there old practices, just changed names and it has continued since.

1 Cor 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles (Heathens) sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to Yahweh: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with demons.

Yet another reason why Christmas shouldn't be celebrated. It's a pagan holiday with sugar coating.

It doesn't mean that to Christians. Bet you could make something " pallic" out of a lot of things. Depends on where a persons mind is.

I have a question? Why are people like you trying to deny their homosexuality by ruining holidays for us?
