I think they should increase fines for employers who hire illegal immigrants. The reason companies hire them is to save money, so if they get fined, they lose incentive. Also if the money was used to hire more police, we could enforce this law without losing manpower to enforce other laws.

you know it's funny how we are worried about the illegals that are working but not bothered by the people on welfare who have been on welfare for generations and obviously abusing the system. At least the illegals come here and work not speaking the language and the risk of being deported. What can be said of the Americans who are capable of working but find it easier to be carried by the rest of us. Illegals work and never receive social security benefits and they don't participate in income tax returns so all that money that they have put into the pot will never be seen by them. It should be seen as credit for when they use the schools and medical services. What's really mind blowing is that we actually get bothered by the fact that we are assisting another human being. I bet that most of the people complaining about illegals are people that go to church every sunday and believe they are good christians. I'm not illegal and I surely don't mind that my tax dollars help to feed a family or help in giving someone the chance to a better life. But I do mind that someone who is capable of earning a living decides to get a free ride.

I think they would. It should be hefty fines and a few years in the clinker for EACH infraction. Many businesses will do illegal things if they only have to pay fines, they just figure it's the cost of doing business and add it in to the prices they pass along to the consumer...so JAIL TIME IS A MUST! Additionally, the illegal aliens needn't go on welfare...despite what naysayers claim, we can, in fact, deport all 20 Million. Rome wasn't built in a day, and all illegal aliens won't be deported in one day. In the fifties we were able to deport a million illegal aliens in one year. We can certainly 50 years later do at least double that...so if we start now...we could deport them all in 10 years or less. Sounds like a great plan!

There are laws in place and the fines are draconian. But the enforcement is what needs to be uniformly applied.
Fine the employers enough and they won't hire the illegals. Deport the illegals and they won't come back.
But before deportation is a possible solution the border needs to be secured.

The Third Provision Of HR4437 States
Anyone or any organization who “assists”
an individual without documentation “to reside in or remain”
in the United States knowingly or with “reckless disregard”
as to the individual’s legal status
would be liable for criminal penalties and five years in prison.
This could include church personnel
who provide shelter or other basic needs assistance
to an undocumented individual.

Yes and we need a Congress that will enforce the laws and extract the fines . Make the fines high enough to help pay for the expenses the illegals cause .

you know we can do this but what happens to the real criminals while you are locking up good people that is trying to make a better life and that is not hurting no one believe it or not they do help our economy they give more than they take but let me tell you they would fine another job and say no to welfare. so you know that speaks whom the better person and would be the first ones to help protect this homeland.

You might have some jail time coming for threatening to "put a bullet in me" because I am Muslim...why don't you tell me if it's meaningful to you?

first of all if you want to make jail time meaningful dont you think the gov. should start with the real criminals? like murderers, child abusers? maybe that is the path we should all consider instead of being lazy and pinting the finger in the other direction.
