I am assuming that you were born in New Orleans have had to move to another place. This is probably compounded with fact that you are bombarded TV, radio, newspaper, etc talking about your hometown and the people that are from ther that have also been displaced? How am I doing so far? I live in the south and I empathize with you. My parents moved when I was a Junior in high school. I didn't want to be at the school out in the country with these .....kids that I didn't like. Looking back, I did something stupid, I rebelled. I didn't fail my senior year, but it was close. I couldn't get into college, I stayed mad for several years. Mad at my parents, mad at me, mad at my dad's job. Bottom line.....life is what you make it. Make the best of your situation. Fake it until you make it. Pretend to like your school and your surrounding and watch what happens. Open your mind to new people things around you. Take this new school, not as a punishment, but as a way to better yourself. The best revenge is living well. In other words, show the world, that you won't let this get you down. You are better than that, don't stoop to level of others. That might mean that you will have to ignore comments from ignorant people. Get your diploma and then show the world how good you are.

Keep going to school and work at finding reasons to be there. Even manual labor is less and less available in the modern world. The more education you can absorb the better off you will be.
Over a life time a high school graduate earns a couple of hundred thousand dollars more than most drop outs. People with college degrees earn even more. The higher up the education pyramid you go the more you earn. It's like a law of nature.

I was in the same dilemma a couple weeks ago. Ultimately I decided to withdraw and take a break. Im looking for full time work and I hope to figure out what I want to do then go back when I have more focus. A lot of the times its all about taking a step back. Maybe talk to an advisor to discuss options and get a better grasp of what you really want to do.

Well, if the school is high school or lower, then you just need to stick it out. Not just stick it out, but get your butt working on high gear and make it through with As so you can do WHATEVER you want when you get finished with high school.
If you're talking a college/post-high school school, then you should consider your options. Transferring is a GOOD thing if you are happier as a result. I'd hit Petersons.com to find other schools that match who I am better than the one I'm at. And I wouldn't be afraid to move, either; education is always worth moving for.
Actually, going back to the high school question: it may be possible to get out of high school if your grades are good and you've got potential. Look into programs like Simon's Rock (in MA) and TAMS (in TX) to see about early admissions to college. I went to TAMS to get out of high school way back in the early 1990s. It was worth it; high school was too boring and I knew I'd be happier in college. It was well worth the effort.

We all have days when we have to go to school or go to work and we really would rather be at the dentist having a root canal.
As long as you don't do it to often, take a day off once in a while and just chill by yourself. Don't do anything that doesn't give you pleasure.

Are you saying you don't want to attend this particular school or do you mean you don't want to attend any school? Education is a necessity so please hang on in spite of your feelings because there is something wonderful awaiting you at the end of your sacrifice. People go to school for the purpose of self-improvement and future success. I once heard someone say, "I'd rather suffer the pains of responsibility now than suffer the pains of regret later".
Please don't give up on yourself because you too valuable for self-defeat.

You have two options-
1. Drop out now, and find something else to do (such as job searching)
2. Finish the semeseter, then stop attending school
